Objective

The primary objective of Makalu 2010 is to place at least two members of the expedition on the summit of Makalu and to get them safely back to Base Camp. We departed for Kathmandu, Nepal, on the 23rd March and will return to the UK on 7th June.

We will be developing our team's high altitude experience and making them leaders of future services mountaineering expeditions.

It won’t be easy. In fact, more people have stood on the moon than have reached the summit of Makalu via the trecherous and rarely climbed South East Ridge. If we are successful then we will be the first British team to do it.

While we climb, we hope that you will help us to raise £8,463.00, for SOS Children's Villages. That's £1.00 for every meter of Makalu to go towards projects supporting the children of the Barun Makalu area.
