Makalu 2010 Sherpas
Many Expedition teams include Sherpas and ours is no exception. We have four Sherpas in our team for the entire Expedition and they are kept busy with organising the porters on the trek in. Now we are at Base Camp they are regularly moving up the mountain fixing the route between Advance Base Camp and Camp 1, Camp 1 and Camp 2 etc. Our climbing teams will then follow along and alter or secure the route as required. The Sherpa’s are all extremely fit individuals and have masses of climbing and trekking experience. They appear to be in their element at high altitude and can move across the difficult terrain with ease. The name Sherpa is passed on from Father to children and is one of many groups of people in Nepal.
